Maxima Discret Sum: Develop & Simplify Expression

In summary, the conversation is about developing an expression in terms of cosine and sine and then simplifying it. The expression is then put into a variable, with the question of how to proceed. Éric later states that he knows how to do it.

Dear all,

In order to develop in cos in sin terms and then simplify the expression

[tex]
S=\left(q_{j}\cos\mathbf{k}\centerdot\mathbf{r}_{j}\right)\left(\sum_{j}^{N}q_{j}exp\mathbf{-k}\centerdot\mathbf{r}_{j}\right)-\left(q_{j}\cos\mathbf{-k}\centerdot\mathbf{r}_{j}\right)\left(\sum_{j}^{N}q_{j}exp\mathbf{k}\centerdot\mathbf{r}_{j}\right)
[/tex]

I'd like to put the expression

[tex]
Q=\sum_{j}^{N}q_{j}exp\mathbf{-k}\centerdot\mathbf{r}_{j}
[/tex]

in a variable.

Does anyone know how to proceed ?
Thanks,

Éric.
