motai said::yuck: This poll seems rather lopsided. Its an either-or decision that makes people "clothespin" vote. Guess that is one of the drawbacks of the American two-party system. But then again, this is how America operates; sometimes even independent candidates have to struggle to get on the ballot such as Nader in Florida.
Bush and Kerry were the two main candidates in the 2004 United States presidential election. George W. Bush was the incumbent President, representing the Republican party, while John Kerry was the Democratic nominee.
Bush was known for his conservative views and policies, including his support for tax cuts, a strong military, and traditional values. Kerry, on the other hand, was more liberal and focused on issues such as healthcare, education, and the environment.
Bush ultimately won the election and served a second term as President. He received 50.7% of the popular vote and 286 electoral votes, while Kerry received 48.3% of the popular vote and 251 electoral votes.
One notable moment was the first presidential debate, where the two candidates discussed their stances on the Iraq War and the economy. Another memorable moment was when Kerry chose John Edwards as his running mate, while Bush chose Dick Cheney to continue as his Vice President.
The 2004 election was a close and highly contentious one, with both candidates receiving a large number of votes. It highlighted the deep political divide in the country and set the stage for future elections, including the 2008 and 2012 elections. Ultimately, the result of this election had a significant impact on the direction of the United States in the following years.
