Suggestion: enable [img] for gold members

In summary, there has been frustration expressed about not being able to use graphics in narrations without restrictions or without being a gold member. However, with active moderation, spamming is not a concern. It has been suggested to enable [PLAIN] for gold members everywhere. This idea has been seconded, thirded, and fourthed. It has also been noted that this is not restricted to gold members. There has been a reminder to resize images to avoid disrupting the thread. Finally, there is appreciation for enabling this feature.

On several occasions I have expressed my disappointment, being unable to illustrate the narrations with graphics other than uploading them at the end or linking without any visual promise how important that would be. That also doesn't work when trying to show a sequence. Actually I haven't posted here for years in the beginning, just because of that very reason, whereas just about all other forums do not restrict the img feature.

I understand the danger of spamming but with the current hyper active moderation, that would be caught very quickly, wouldn't it?

Anyway, it's highly unlikely that spammers are gold members, so wouldn't it be just be more than setting a simple flag to allow img for gold members everywhere and increase the attractiviness of becoming one?

Advice: enable for gold members everywhere in the forum.

Seconded.

Is it really such a big deal to enable img tags in other forums, even for non-gold members?

Pretty please?

Super. Thanks Greg!

Probably a good time to remind people to make sure that any pictures they post should be reduced to nothing larger 640 x 480, or 800 x 600 at the largest so the pictures don't cause the entire thread to scroll off a person's page. That is extremely disruptive.
