In summary, if you are looking for a transparent substance with a refractive index less than 1.6 that can be easily peeled off from glass without dissolving and is preferably water-resistant, you may want to consider using clear epoxy resin. This can be found in two-part epoxy options, such as those offered by NTT Advanced Technology Corporation. However, it may be necessary to use a film or release agent when casting the resin onto a glass surface.

Hi !

Can you recommend me a glue or paint or other chemical substance with the following properties:
- should be transparent
-should have a refr. index less than 1.6
-could be easily peeled off from glass
- should not dissolve in the same substance after drying (I want to make a thin film, peel it off and then stick it with the same substance to an optical device, but the film should not destroy)
-it is preferably but not mandatory that it should not dissolve in water

Thank you!

You may need to use a film or release agent when casting on a glass surface.

1. What is a special substance and how is it different from regular adhesive or paint?

A special substance is a type of adhesive or paint that possesses unique properties or characteristics in comparison to traditional adhesives or paints. These properties may include increased strength, durability, flexibility, or specialized bonding capabilities.

2. What are the common uses for special substances?

Special substances are commonly used in various industries such as construction, automotive, aerospace, and electronics. They can be used for bonding materials together, creating protective coatings, or as sealants for joints and seams.

3. How do special substances work?

The specific function of a special substance depends on its unique properties. However, in general, special substances work by creating a strong chemical bond between two surfaces, providing a secure and long-lasting hold.

4. Are there any safety precautions to consider when using special substances?

Yes, as with any chemical product, it is important to follow safety precautions when handling special substances. This may include wearing protective gear, working in a well-ventilated area, and following the manufacturer's instructions for proper use and disposal.

5. Can special substances be removed or reversed if needed?

Most special substances are designed to create a permanent bond, but there are some that can be removed or reversed using specific techniques or solvents. It is important to carefully research and follow the instructions for removal to avoid damaging the bonded surfaces.
