Hi Folks

I have a DVD player that built into the computer. A friend of mine gave me a computer sometime ago and I can't find a driver to watch the DVDs. Can someone tell me of some good software for watching them?

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete,

I understand your frustration in not being able to find a driver for your DVD player. It can be difficult to find the right software sometimes. Have you tried checking the manufacturer's website for the driver? They usually have a support section where you can find and download drivers for their products.

If that doesn't work, there are also many third-party software options available for watching DVDs on your computer. Some popular ones include VLC Media Player, PowerDVD, and WinDVD. These can be easily found and downloaded online.

I hope this helps and that you are able to find a suitable driver or software for your DVD player. Happy movie watching!

What is a driver for a DVD player?

A driver for a DVD player is a small software program that allows your computer to communicate with and control your DVD player. It helps your computer recognize the DVD player and access its features.

Do I need to install a driver for my DVD player?

It depends on your computer's operating system. Most modern computers come with pre-installed drivers for common devices such as DVD players. However, if your computer is unable to recognize your DVD player, you may need to manually install a driver.

How can I find and download a driver for my DVD player?

You can usually find and download drivers for your specific DVD player model on the manufacturer's website. You can also try using a driver update software, but be cautious of potential malware.

Can I use a DVD player without a driver?

No, you cannot. A driver is necessary for your computer to communicate with and control your DVD player. Without a driver, your computer will not recognize the DVD player as a connected device.

How do I update the driver for my DVD player?

To update the driver for your DVD player, you can go to the Device Manager on your computer and select the DVD player. From there, you can choose to update the driver automatically or manually by downloading and installing the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.
