In summary, the amp/hour production of a small 1.5v battery depends on the type of battery. For NiMh batteries, it typically produces 1.7 amp-hour. Linking 6 of these batteries in series gives a total of 9v at 1.7 amp-hour, while linking 6 in parallel gives 10.2 amp-hour at 1.5v (or 1.2v for NiMh batteries). The exact amp/hour output also depends on the size of the battery.

how many amp/hour can a small 1.5v produce? If u link 6 together to form a 9v, would the amp/hour change or only the voltage?

Depends on the type of battery, but NiMh batteries get about 1.7 amp-hour.

Linking 6 in series gives you 9v at 1.7 amp-hour and linking 6 in parallel gives you 10.2 amp-hour at 1.5v (actually, NiMh are more like 1.2v).

It very directly depends on how small. You absolutely MUST specify this in order to get an answer. Just consider this quote by russ:

1. How long does a 1.5v battery last?

A 1.5v battery can last anywhere from 6-12 hours, depending on the device it is powering and the energy demands of that device. It is important to note that the amp hour rating of the battery also plays a role in determining its lifespan.

2. What does the "1.5v" in "1.5v bat amp hour" mean?

The "1.5v" refers to the voltage of the battery. This indicates the amount of electrical potential difference between the positive and negative terminals of the battery. In simpler terms, it is the amount of energy that the battery can provide to a device.

3. How is amp hours (Ah) related to battery capacity?

Amp hours (Ah) is a measure of the battery's capacity. It indicates the amount of energy that a battery can provide over a certain period of time. A higher Ah rating means that the battery can power a device for a longer period of time before needing to be recharged.

4. Can I use a battery with a higher or lower amp hour rating than recommended for my device?

No, it is not recommended to use a battery with a significantly higher or lower amp hour rating than what is recommended for your device. This can cause damage to the device or the battery itself, and may also result in a shorter lifespan for your battery.

5. How can I calculate the runtime of a device using a 1.5v battery with a specific amp hour rating?

To calculate the runtime of a device using a 1.5v battery with a specific amp hour rating, you can use the formula: Runtime = (Battery Amp Hours x 1.5v) / Device Energy Consumption (in watts). This will give you an estimate of how long the battery will last before needing to be recharged.
