do TV cameras have autofocus?

and, do USA tanks have some alarm system telling them if they are been targeted with an IR system?

Hmmm... well, there is no way to tell if you are being targetted with a passive IR system. Active IR, I don't know, but I would guess probably not.

These sites are excellent sources of military/technological info; let me know if you can find anything there:

Yes, tv cameras have autofocus (just like the cheap camcorders do).

No, since IR is completely passive, there is no way to tell if you have someone tracking you. Remember, IR is just low frequency light. You can't tell if someone is looking at you.

What is the purpose of autofocus and alarm systems on TV cameras and tanks?

The purpose of autofocus and alarm systems on TV cameras and tanks is to improve the accuracy and efficiency of these devices. Autofocus ensures that the camera or tank is constantly focused on the intended target, while alarm systems alert the operator to potential issues or threats.

How does autofocus work on TV cameras and tanks?

Autofocus on TV cameras and tanks works by using a combination of sensors and motors. The sensors detect the distance and sharpness of the image, while the motors adjust the lens to achieve optimal focus.

Do all TV cameras and tanks have autofocus and alarm systems?

No, not all TV cameras and tanks have autofocus and alarm systems. These features are typically found on more advanced and specialized models, as they require additional technology and resources.

What are the benefits of using autofocus and alarm systems on TV cameras and tanks?

The benefits of using autofocus and alarm systems on TV cameras and tanks include improved accuracy, faster response times, and increased operator awareness. This can be particularly important in high-pressure or dangerous situations.

Are there any drawbacks to using autofocus and alarm systems on TV cameras and tanks?

One potential drawback of using autofocus and alarm systems on TV cameras and tanks is the added cost and complexity. These features may also require regular maintenance and calibration to ensure they are functioning properly.
