Signs that Russel T Davis isn't in charge anymore ;-)

Is that the guy that finished of Tennant's run? If it's who I'm thinking of he churned out some good episodes, but there was something I didn't like about the last season of his. It felt like the Doctor was being made into a superhero figure. I can't put my finger on it, but hopefully I can see some of these newer ones. Despite what I just said, I think it's one of the best shows out right now. I must be one of the only "fans" who hasn't seen an episode for about two years.

Russel T Davies created the new Doctor Who, since it's restart with Christopher Ecclestone.
He is gay and is credited with introducing gay characters into popular TV (Cpt Jack and Torchwood) - although Steven Moffat (the new boss) wrote some of the best episodes.

So the appearance of a new Doctor's companion in the traditional hottie in a short skirt mold is a nod back to Tom Baker's assistants in the 70s.

Care to watch Dr. Who and Captain Picard do Hamlet?

Hamlet
Preview the Film
Shakespeare’s immortal “To be, or not to be” takes on a whole new meaning (and medium) as classical stage and screen actors David Tennant and (recently-knighted) Sir Patrick Stewart reprise their roles for a modern-dress, film-for-television adaptation of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s (RSC) 2008 stage production of Hamlet. The production will be presented on PBS by the Great Performances series on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 8 p.m. EST (check local listings). Immediately following the broadcast, the film will be available online in its entirety here on the Great Performances Web site.

Preview the film..

The entire film should be available online soon if you care to go where no man has gone before.

River's true identity revealed: Okay, that was great!

Beyond any doubt, the new Who series has by far been the best. And I like how they have been bringing out The Doctor's dark side!

Not only has the writing been fantastic at times [I thought the episode "Blink" was some of the best tv sci-fi ever written!], it has such breadth that Who is a hit with kids.

Going back a few episodes, the sexual tension bit between The Doctor and The TARDIS - in female form - was hilarious. And the question from Amy Pond in this regard had me roaring: "Did you wish reeeeeeeeally hard?":rofl::rofl:

Something else and going back even more, the running gag with "Hello, I'm Harriet Jones" was classic. The Daleks responding "Yes, we know!", was absolutely classic.

The show is incredible! I totally agree! Stephen Moffet is such a great writer.

I can't wait to see how this series will resolve itself. What to do for the next four months...
