AP Physics C vs AP Chemistry: Which Is Better?

In summary, AP Physics C covers mechanics and electricity and magnetism, while AP Chemistry focuses on fundamental principles and concepts of chemistry. Both courses can be challenging, with AP Physics C requiring strong math and problem-solving skills and AP Chemistry requiring a strong foundation in chemistry. Both courses are beneficial for college, depending on the student's intended major. Both courses also involve hands-on learning, with AP Chemistry potentially having more opportunities for hands-on activities. It is possible to take both courses, but students should consider the workload and time commitment before making a decision.

Ok so i am currently taking AP Physics C. In our school there is a bit of a rivalry between the Physics C kids and the AP Chem kids. I was wondering what you guys thought about these two classes and reasons why Physics C is better (obvious bias lol).

Physics C is like so much better because it's like so much more fundemantal.

AP Chem is like totally derived from Physics C.

Plus Newton is like a million times smarter than any CHemistery experiment eva!

What is the difference between AP Physics C and AP Chemistry?

AP Physics C is a course that covers both mechanics and electricity and magnetism, while AP Chemistry focuses on the fundamental principles and concepts of chemistry.

Which subject is more challenging: AP Physics C or AP Chemistry?

This depends on the individual's strengths and interests. AP Physics C requires a strong understanding of math and problem-solving skills, while AP Chemistry requires a strong foundation in chemistry concepts and equations.

Which AP course is more beneficial for college?

Both AP Physics C and AP Chemistry are beneficial for college, as they are both considered challenging and rigorous courses. It ultimately depends on the student's intended major and career path.

Which subject is more hands-on: AP Physics C or AP Chemistry?

Both AP Physics C and AP Chemistry involve hands-on laboratory experiments and activities. However, AP Chemistry may have more opportunities for hands-on learning due to the nature of the subject.

Can I take both AP Physics C and AP Chemistry?

Yes, it is possible to take both AP Physics C and AP Chemistry. However, it is important to consider the workload and time commitment for both courses before making a decision.
