French find new method to bomb US

In summary, French police have stopped hiding plastic explosives in passengers' luggage for training purposes after a bag containing explosives went missing. The bag has yet to be found and three flights have been searched. No passenger has reported finding the explosives in their luggage. This practice of covertly hiding explosives poses a growing threat as they can be easily delivered by terrorists or hostile governments. There is a need for improved intelligence and response capabilities to address this threat. The idea of a ballistic-missile defense system to protect against this threat is questionable and has been criticized by experts.

PARIS — French police on Sunday ended their practice of hiding plastic explosives in air passengers' luggage to train bomb-sniffing dogs after one such bag got lost, possibly ending up on a flight out of Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport.

The luggage that police used Friday for the exercise has yet to turn up. Three flights that arrived in Los Angeles and New York were searched, but it was not found.

And no passenger has contacted French authorities to report the surprise discovery of a bag of nearly five ounces of explosives tucked into his or her suitcase…

if you want to have some sleepless nights, read http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?tid=5271&ttype=2 excellent book.

Nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) weapons delivered covertly by terrorists or hostile governments pose a significant and growing threat to the United States and other countries. Although the threat of NBC attack is widely recognized as a central national security issue, most analysts have assumed that the primary danger is military use by states in war, with traditional military means of delivery. The threat of covert attack has been imprudently neglected.

Covert attack is hard to deter or prevent, and NBC weapons suitable for covert attack are available to a growing range of states and groups hostile to the United States. At the same time, constraints on their use appear to be eroding. This volume analyzes the nature and limits of the covert NBC threat and proposes a measured set of policy responses, focused on improving intelligence and consequence-management capabilities to reduce U.S. vulnerability.

... & yet for some reason we're told endlessly by our governments that we need to have a ballistic-missile defence system to protect us. this is in spite of the fact that the american physical society published a http://www.aps.org/public_affairs/popa/reports/nmd03.cfm on why it won't even work.

You can't honestly expect the neo conservatives to tell you that your life's not in danger from foreigns every day of your life and that the only way to stay alive is if you have total and complete faith in the corporations getting paid your taxes to build something that won't work.. come on..

1. How did the French find this new method to bomb the US?

The French were working on developing new military technology when they discovered this new method. It was not intentionally targeted at the US, but rather a result of their research and experimentation.

2. What makes this new method different from traditional bombing techniques?

This new method uses advanced technology and precision targeting to increase accuracy and decrease collateral damage. It also allows for more efficient use of resources and reduces the risk to the pilots carrying out the bombing.

3. Will this new method pose a threat to the US?

Any new method or technology developed for military purposes has the potential to pose a threat to any country. However, it is important to note that the French have assured that this method will only be used for defensive purposes and not for aggression.

4. How will the US respond to this new development by the French?

The US government has not released an official response yet. However, it is likely that they will monitor the situation closely and take necessary precautions to protect their national security.

5. Are there any international regulations or agreements that govern the use of this new bombing method?

Currently, there are no specific regulations or agreements in place that address this specific method of bombing. However, the use of any military technology is generally governed by international laws and agreements, and it is expected that the French will follow these guidelines when using this new method.
