Is Kundu & Cohen a good introductory fluid mechanics textbook?

In summary, the conversation is about a student asking for recommendations on a good introductory fluid mechanics textbook. The professor suggests Fox's book, but the student is unsure due to mixed reviews. Another potential option is Fluid Mechanics by Kundu & Cohen, but there are conflicting opinions on whether it is suitable for undergraduate or graduate level courses.

I'm a Mechanical Engineering major and am starting Fluid Mechanics this semester. My professor suggested Fox's book, as he's going to take most problems from that book, though I've heard this book is really weak and I would like to buy something that I could dig further into the subject.

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, Fox & McDonald is a very good undergraduate fluids text. I hvae the 4th edition - have not seen any others.

Thanks for your reply. I am seriously thinking about buying Fox & McDonald now. A friend of mine has suggested me to buy Fluid Mechanics by Kundu & Cohen, though most reviews are really good, some say this is more for a graduate level course. Can anyone tell me if this is a good introductory fluid mechanics text?
