Attachment pending approval

In summary, the conversation discusses the need for approval of attachments on a forum to prevent spamming. The possibility of allowing senior members to have automatic approval for certain file types is mentioned, but the risk associated with this is also considered. It is suggested to report any attachments that are waiting for approval for a long time, as the response time for approval is usually quick.

"Attachment pending approval"

First let me say that I totally understand the need for approval of attachments, I've seen other boards get spammed with porn and so on and its a total nuisance. However I was wondering if anyone had considered allowing senior members (with over some minimum post count) to have automatic approval of certain file types (types incapable of carrying viri for example). Or is even tis too risky? Any comments?

This has been considered before. I'm not sure if it is possible. However if you do see an attachment that has been waiting for approval for a while, please feel free to report the post.

I do this fairly often, and the response time (after reporting) is pretty good.

1. What does "Attachment pending approval" mean?

"Attachment pending approval" means that a file or document has been submitted for review and has not yet been approved by the designated authority.

2. How long does it take for an attachment to be approved?

The length of time for an attachment to be approved can vary depending on the specific process and the workload of the approving authority. It is best to check with the designated authority for an estimated timeline.

3. Can I access the attachment while it is pending approval?

In most cases, you will not be able to access the attachment while it is pending approval. However, some systems may allow you to view a preview or placeholder of the attachment.

4. What happens if my attachment is not approved?

If your attachment is not approved, you will likely receive a notification explaining the reason for the rejection. You may be given the opportunity to make changes or resubmit the attachment for further review.

5. Is there anything I can do to expedite the approval process?

In some cases, you may be able to contact the designated authority and request an expedited review. However, this is not always possible and the timeline for approval will ultimately depend on the process and workload of the authority.
