Hi all,

Has anyone know how to calculate the loop function of Higgs decay to photons/ gluons by t quark , or a useful reference.

Cheers,

Isn't it exactly the same as for the production?

Replace the gluons by photons.

Yes, I mean the loop function of the decay or production ..

Google this.
Higgs production through gluon fusion at leading order - Nikhef
That is one that I had looked at before. Alternatively you could always look at the code for production or decay in one of the generators if you get stuck.

Hope it helps

1. What is the Higgs decay loop function?

The Higgs decay loop function is a mathematical expression that describes the probability of the Higgs boson decaying into various particles through a loop of virtual particles. This function is an important factor in understanding the behavior of the Higgs boson and its interactions with other particles.

2. How is the Higgs decay loop function calculated?

The Higgs decay loop function is calculated using quantum field theory, specifically using Feynman diagrams and perturbation theory. This involves summing up an infinite number of possible interactions between the Higgs boson and virtual particles to determine the overall probability of decay.

3. What particles can the Higgs boson decay into through loop processes?

The Higgs boson can decay into a variety of particles through loop processes, including photons, W and Z bosons, and fermions such as quarks and leptons. The exact probabilities for each decay channel depend on the mass and interactions of the particles involved.

4. Does the Higgs decay loop function have any experimental evidence?

Yes, the Higgs decay loop function has been confirmed by experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. The observed decay rates of the Higgs boson match the predictions of the loop function, providing strong evidence for the validity of the Standard Model of particle physics.

5. How does the Higgs decay loop function impact our understanding of the universe?

The Higgs decay loop function is an essential component of the Standard Model of particle physics, which is our current best understanding of the fundamental particles and forces in the universe. By studying the Higgs boson and its decay processes, scientists hope to gain a deeper understanding of the origin and nature of mass and the fundamental laws that govern our universe.
