Can Humans Hear Supersonic Airplanes?

In summary, humans would still be able to hear an airplane even if it is flying faster than the speed of sound. However, it would pass by them before the sound is actually heard. Those inside the plane may hear internal noises, but external noises would be left behind.

The simple answer is yes. Why would you think otherwise?

It just means that the plane would pass by you first before you would actually hear it fly past by you

The humans inside the plane would not hear it. Well, not like those ouside, anyway. The sound traveling along the body of the plane would reach the ears of those inside, but the external noise would be left behind.

1. Can humans hear supersonic airplanes?

Yes, humans can hear supersonic airplanes, but it depends on several factors such as distance, altitude, and atmospheric conditions.

2. What is the sound of a supersonic airplane?

The sound of a supersonic airplane is often described as a loud boom or a sonic boom, which is a type of sound wave created when an object travels faster than the speed of sound.

3. How far away can the sound of a supersonic airplane be heard?

The sound of a supersonic airplane can be heard up to several miles away, depending on the speed and altitude of the aircraft.

4. Is hearing a sonic boom harmful to humans?

No, hearing a sonic boom is not harmful to humans. However, repeated exposure to loud noises, including sonic booms, can cause hearing damage.

5. Can humans hear the sound of a supersonic airplane inside a building?

Yes, humans can hear the sound of a supersonic airplane inside a building, but the sound may be muffled depending on the materials and construction of the building.
