Are there other periodic phenomena's other than the comet Hally?

In summary, there are many periodic comets with a variety of orbital periods ranging from 10 years to several decades. These can be researched through a Google search for "periodic comets" which will provide lists of comets, their orbital periods, and when they will be visible.

I'm sure Sir Edmund Halley would prefer his surname to be spelt correctly and capitalised

there are many many periodic comets from periods of a ~ 10 years to many 10's of years

No probs :)

back to your original question, was there a particular reason for it ?
ie. are you interested in knowing what other comets you may see in a telescope?
or were you just curious ?

if the first... then doing a google search on periodic comets will yield sites with lists of them
their orbital periods, when they last were visible and when they will next be visible.

cheers
Dave

1. What is a periodic phenomenon?

A periodic phenomenon is any event or occurrence that repeats itself in a regular pattern, such as the changing of the seasons or the phases of the moon.

2. How often does the comet Hally appear?

The comet Hally has an orbital period of approximately 76 years, meaning it appears once every 76 years.

3. Are there other periodic phenomena similar to the comet Hally?

Yes, there are many other periodic phenomena in our universe, including the orbit of planets around the sun, the rotation of Earth on its axis, and the cycles of solar activity.

4. Can periodic phenomena be predicted?

Yes, scientists use mathematical calculations and observations to predict when periodic phenomena will occur in the future.

5. How do scientists study and understand periodic phenomena?

Scientists use various methods such as telescopes, satellites, and computer models to observe and analyze periodic phenomena, in order to understand their patterns and underlying causes.
