DC circuit steady state (resistors and capacitors)

In summary, a DC circuit steady state is a state in which the voltages and currents in a circuit have reached a constant level. Resistors and capacitors play important roles in regulating and stabilizing the flow of current and voltage in a DC circuit steady state. Various factors such as component resistance, capacitance, power source voltage, and circuit load can affect the steady state of a DC circuit. The steady state values can be calculated using Ohm's Law or the time constant of the circuit.

I have attached the picture of the circuit.
I'm trying to figure out the steady state voltages across the 2 resistors and the capacitor.

V_s is given to be 10V DC.

At steady state in a DC circuit, a capacitor acts as an open. When that happens, we shouldn't expect any current to flow through the middle branch right?
If so, then that means there would be a 10V drop across 'C' and 0V drop across R_1. R_2 would also experience a 10V drop.

Very good.

What is a DC circuit steady state?

A DC circuit steady state refers to the state in which the voltages and currents in a circuit have reached a constant level and are not changing over time.

What are resistors and how do they affect a DC circuit steady state?

Resistors are electronic components that restrict the flow of electrical current. In a DC circuit steady state, resistors help to regulate the flow of current and ensure that it remains constant.

How do capacitors impact a DC circuit steady state?

Capacitors are electronic components that can store and release electrical energy. In a DC circuit steady state, capacitors help to smooth out fluctuations in the voltage and current, ensuring a more stable circuit.

What factors can affect the steady state of a DC circuit?

The steady state of a DC circuit can be affected by factors such as the resistance and capacitance of the components in the circuit, the voltage of the power source, and any changes in the circuit's load or environment.

How can one calculate the steady state values of a DC circuit?

The steady state values of a DC circuit can be calculated using Ohm's Law, which states that the voltage, current, and resistance in a circuit are related by the equation V=IR. Additionally, the time constant of a circuit (determined by the resistance and capacitance) can also be used to calculate the steady state values.
