What is the Designed Speed for a 100 m Radius Curve Banked at 68 Degrees?

In summary, the "EASY speed of curve PROBLEM" is a common scientific problem where researchers struggle to accurately measure the speed of an object moving along a curved path. This is difficult because it requires taking into account both the distance traveled and the change in direction of the object, which can vary at different points along the curve. Some common methods for solving this problem include using calculus, motion sensors, or breaking the curved path into smaller segments. Additionally, air resistance can significantly affect the speed of a curved path, making it more challenging to measure accurately. It is important to accurately measure the speed of a curved path in various scientific fields to understand the motion of objects and make predictions about their behavior.

EASY speed of curve PROBLEM!

A race track curve has a radius of 100 m and is banked at an angle of 68 degrees. For what speed was the curve designed?

ok this is what i got

since tan angle = v^2/rg
i got tan 68 = v^2/rg
so tan 68 x rg = v^2
but this gave me an answer far from the actual answer of 49.
please help!

What is the "EASY speed of curve PROBLEM"?

The "EASY speed of curve PROBLEM" refers to a common scientific problem where researchers struggle to accurately measure the speed of an object moving along a curved path.

Why is measuring the speed of a curved path difficult?

Measuring the speed of a curved path is difficult because it requires taking into account both the distance traveled and the change in direction of the object. This can be challenging because the speed may vary at different points along the curve.

What are some common methods for solving the "EASY speed of curve PROBLEM"?

Some common methods for solving the "EASY speed of curve PROBLEM" include using calculus to calculate the instantaneous speed at a specific point on the curve, using motion sensors to track the speed of the object, or breaking the curved path into smaller straight segments and calculating the speed for each segment.

How does air resistance affect the speed of a curved path?

Air resistance can significantly affect the speed of a curved path, as it creates a force that opposes the motion of the object. This can cause the object to slow down or change direction, making it more difficult to accurately measure its speed.

Why is it important to accurately measure the speed of a curved path?

Accurately measuring the speed of a curved path is important in many scientific fields, such as physics, engineering, and biology. It allows us to understand the motion of objects and make predictions about their behavior, which can help in designing and improving technologies and studying natural phenomena.
