In summary, the conversation is about whether there is a PHP script or function available that can replicate the functionality of [tex] tags, allowing for the insertion of image equations without having to generate them on a message board and then save them elsewhere. It is suggested that the discussion be moved to a technology forum.

is there a usable PHP script or function or anything availible that does the same thing as the [tex] tags here do, so I could insert an image equation elsewhere w/o having to generate it on these boards and then save it off? ;)

Might want to move this to technology forum.

Vice versa per se intuitively of course.

1. How does the "Insert Image Equations w/o [tex] - PHP Script" work?

The PHP script works by taking a mathematical equation as input and converting it into an image using the built-in GD library. It then inserts the image into the desired location on the webpage.

2. Can the script handle complex equations?

Yes, the script can handle complex equations with multiple variables, exponents, and special characters. It uses LaTeX formatting to ensure accuracy and flexibility in equation input.

3. What are the system requirements for using the script?

The script requires a web server with PHP and GD library support. Most modern web hosting services meet these requirements, but it is always best to check with your provider.

4. Is the script customizable?

Yes, the script is highly customizable. You can change the font, size, and color of the equation image, as well as the background color and border. You can also adjust the resolution and quality of the image.

5. Can the script be used for commercial purposes?

Yes, the script is free for commercial use. However, it is always best to check the terms and conditions of the license agreement before using it for commercial purposes.
