In summary, an error message is a notification that an error or issue has occurred within a system or program. It may include a brief description of the problem and offer suggestions for resolving it. There can be many possible reasons for receiving an error message, such as incorrect input, outdated software, or unexpected system errors. To fix the error message, it is important to carefully read it and identify the cause. Solutions may include restarting the program or system, updating software, or checking for input or code errors. Ignoring an error message is not recommended as it may lead to further issues. Some errors can be prevented by ensuring proper input or updating software, but others may require troubleshooting or seeking assistance from a technical expert.

I'm trying to install old version of Adobe Photoshop (5.5) on my Vista-equipped PC. I get this:

Any ideas on what I should do?

Thanks.

Just a shot in the dark, but v5.5 is pretty old and Vista is known for having issues with older software. Right click on the autorun executable and go to properties. Go to the compatibility tab (can't remember if its a tab or button) and start playing with the options.

I would suggest checking the system requirements for Adobe Photoshop 5.5 to ensure that it is compatible with your Vista-equipped PC. If it is not, you may need to upgrade your operating system or find a newer version of Photoshop that is compatible with Vista. It is also possible that there may be compatibility issues with the installation process itself, in which case I would recommend contacting Adobe customer support for further assistance. Additionally, checking for any available updates or patches for the software may also help resolve the error message.
