Your Current Desktop Wallpaper

In summary, this desktop background features a beautiful image of the night sky with stars and a galaxy or two. It would make a great background for any computer or laptop.

Post your current desktop:

Every time I look at this, it makes me feel like I'm in the park again :)

I didn't find a thread for this, but please delete/lock it if I'm wrong.

Here's mine, scaled down by a factor of 2. It's from a visit to Austria 39 years ago this fall.

Use the "Insert Image" button just above the reply box and type in the http-location of your image.
Click for instance "Quote" on my post to see how it's done.

Thanks. I was a programmer in the command-line era, and I don't want to blow up someone's forum with an image that is improperly formatted or too big.

I do not think it is too big.
As long as the width is less than about 1000 pixels you should be okay.

I have the SDSS shot of M-51 as my desktop, but am unsure of how to post it here. It was my inspiration when researching redshift differentials in apparently-interacting galaxies.

Nice Turbo,

Here's mine, I prefer to think of it as: natural subtle complexity... beauty...

All my icons live on my toolbar below the image, where they should be, hehe... others may disagree, but it works for me.

Rhody...

P.S. If you have Windows 7, just use the snipping tool to capture, save as a .jpg file and attach as a thumbnail, piece of cake... it will be under the thumbnail file limit size.

Dave,

Use it all the time when my images are too big, way easier than resizing using some photo program. Just a little trick, now two of us have it.

No, she's another member here, who posted in the thread for proliferating PF.
She earned gold membership for another one like this one.
She also happens to be my favorite student here on PF.

Ha, good catch Adyssa. I don't know why I missed the window 7 look. I guess the bottom icons fool me. I wonder if the middle of the wallpaper is an actual music player or just picture.

No, that's windows. I have used a rainmeter skin and i took a screenshot of my desktop.
I imported the screenshot in PowerPoint and added a bubble gradient on it so that it looks more cool.
