In summary, this morning, for about an hour, I had this whole mountain to myself. I went up there to get some pics of the sunrise, but there was also a huge crowd of ravens flying around. They make the coolest squawking & popping noises. I could only hear the sound of their wings flapping & roosters crowing way down in the valley below. Beautiful sunrise! And bunnies! I've never scrolled this far to reply to a post, but I think it was worth it.

If you mean to the right - yeah.

I didn't realize the second and third pics were panoramas until I tried to find the quote button. WOW!

Astro, haven't you learned by now that obscure trivia doesn't make for a good joke with any but the obscure trivialist?

Ok, I'm really trying to figure out where these pictures are taken from.

It's obviously south Vancouver Island, but where exactly I'm not sure.

1. What makes a Canadian sunrise different from other sunrises?

A Canadian sunrise is different because of its unique combination of colors, which are often vibrant and striking. Additionally, the landscape and surroundings of Canada add to the overall beauty of the sunrise.

2. Why do Canadian sunrises sometimes have a pink or purple hue?

The pink and purple hues in Canadian sunrises are caused by a phenomenon called "scattering". The sunlight is scattered and refracted by particles in the atmosphere, creating the pink and purple colors we see.

3. Can the weather affect the appearance of a Canadian sunrise?

Yes, the weather can greatly impact the appearance of a Canadian sunrise. Clouds, fog, and other atmospheric conditions can create a more dramatic and colorful sunrise, while clear skies may result in a more subtle sunrise.

4. Are Canadian sunrises only seen in certain parts of Canada?

No, Canadian sunrises can be seen throughout the country. However, certain regions, such as the Rocky Mountains or the coast, may offer more picturesque and diverse views of the sunrise.

5. How early do I have to wake up to catch a Canadian sunrise?

This depends on the time of year and your location in Canada. Generally, the best time to see a Canadian sunrise is about 30 minutes before the sun officially rises. However, in northern regions during the summer, the sun may rise as early as 4am, while in the winter it may rise as late as 8am.
