    Book
In summary, the conversation is about a paperback book on physics that the speaker read in 2004. It covered subatomic particles, physics, and chaos theory, with a possible section on relativity. The book had a black cover with a possible galaxy or black hole diagram and the author was young. The speaker is looking for the title of the book and someone suggests "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene.

It was a paperback book on physics that I was reading around 2004 that may have been a few years old then, it started off with subatomic particles and went on through physics to chaos theory. Relativity may have been early in the book. I think it was intended as a primer.

I read about quarks in there and the cover was black, maybe with a galaxy on the front- possibly a black hole diagram (maybe not). I want to say the guy who wrote it was young-ish. Certainly not Hawking.

I know this is not much to go on, but if you have any idea please let me know.

Thank you-

Scott

I understand the importance of finding reliable and accurate resources for learning about physics. Based on the information provided, I would suggest starting your search by looking for popular science books on physics published around 2004. Some possible titles that match the description are "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene, "The Fabric of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene, or "The Universe in a Nutshell" by Stephen Hawking. These books cover topics such as subatomic particles, relativity, and chaos theory, and have black covers with galaxy or black hole images on the front.

If none of these books seem to match your memory, I would recommend searching for books on physics using keywords such as "2004," "subatomic particles," "relativity," and "chaos theory." Additionally, websites like Goodreads or Amazon may have user reviews or lists that could help you narrow down your search.

I hope this helps you find the book you are looking for. I encourage you to continue your curiosity and pursuit of knowledge in the field of physics. Best of luck in your search.
