Why are personal and "crack" theories not allowed?

I always wondered about this rule. This is a skeptics section of the forum and if you have something to say, well wouldn't it be reasonable to question it and take it apart than to rather disown it? I asked a question earlier about Forces by Proxy, but conclusively another PF Mentor locked the topic and refuses to discuss it with me. How am I supposed to learn anything?
I believe yes, this forum serves to be truthful in every manner, but how is that achieved if the only truths that one will accept are those that exist; how will that even further scientific endeavors?

Basically, its a case of been there, done that. Those who truly espoused such ideas tend to be immune to logic and evidence. The personal and crackpot theories were for the most part a huge distraction. Someone with no physics training but who wanted to appear smart and edgy would come here to argue about The Next Great Idea™ found on some wacko web site. A week later that person might finally gave up. Then someone else with a complete lack of physics knowledge would find the exact same thing on the net and come here to debate it month later. The fact that it had been discussed ad nauseum a short time earlier was irrelevant.

There is no need to address fringe theories where he have perfectly acceptable mainstream theories that are well-tested. Beyond that, there is a process of peer-review and publication that peforms the function of filtering. There is no need for us to duplicate the effort here. If one wishes to learn about science, then learn the real stuff.

1. Why are personal theories not allowed in scientific research?

Personal theories are not allowed in scientific research because they are based on individual opinions and beliefs rather than objective evidence. In order to maintain the integrity of scientific research, all claims must be supported by empirical evidence and undergo rigorous testing and peer review.

2. What makes a theory considered to be a "crack" theory?

A "crack" theory is one that lacks scientific evidence and is not supported by the scientific community. These theories often rely on pseudoscience or conspiracy theories rather than factual evidence and logical reasoning. They are not based on the scientific method and are not subject to rigorous testing and peer review.

3. How do personal and crack theories differ from accepted scientific theories?

Accepted scientific theories are based on extensive research, experimentation, and evidence from multiple sources. They are also subject to peer review and must be able to make accurate predictions and withstand scrutiny from the scientific community. In contrast, personal and crack theories lack these traits and are not considered valid in the scientific community.

4. Can personal and crack theories ever be considered valid in scientific research?

In rare cases, personal and crack theories may lead to new discoveries or insights in scientific research. However, in order to be considered valid, these theories must be supported by empirical evidence and undergo extensive testing and peer review. Without these elements, personal and crack theories cannot be considered scientifically valid.

5. Why is it important to exclude personal and crack theories from scientific research?

Excluding personal and crack theories from scientific research is important because it helps to maintain the credibility and reliability of scientific findings. By adhering to the scientific method and relying on evidence-based theories, scientists can make accurate and meaningful contributions to their field of study. Personal and crack theories can also lead to misinformation and hinder the progress of scientific research.
