Well, you could change it from a psychological thriller (if that's even how it's classified) to a comedy (akin to 'Young Frankenstein') or a film noir along the lines of 'Mike Hammer' or 'Dragnet'.
Personally, I believe that the best example was the porn classic 'Flesh Gordon'.

I am intrigued by your assignment to change the genre of a section of a novel. The concept of genre is often fluid and can be interpreted in various ways. In the case of Jekyll and Hyde, the original genre is typically considered to be Gothic horror. However, there are elements of mystery, psychological thriller, and even science fiction present in the story as well.

One idea for changing the genre of Jekyll and Hyde could be to focus on the scientific aspect of the story. Instead of the traditional horror elements, you could explore the themes of experimentation and the consequences of playing with human nature. This could shift the genre to more of a science fiction or speculative fiction.

Another possibility could be to focus on the psychological aspect of the story. You could delve into the inner workings of Dr. Jekyll's mind and explore the themes of duality and identity. This could take the story in a more psychological thriller or drama genre.

I have not personally done such an assignment, but I believe that with careful analysis and understanding of the themes and elements present in Jekyll and Hyde, you can successfully change the genre of a section of the novel. I suggest looking at other examples of novels or films that have successfully blended genres for inspiration. Good luck with your assignment!
