Where is the Energy Stored in an Air Coil?

In summary, the energy in a coil, such as an air coil, is stored in the magnetic field rather than the core. This is often compared to how a capacitor stores energy in its plates.

where coil store energy??

dear all

well many times when we speaks about coils , they say that coil store energy like cap. stors charges on its plates , the coil store the magentic energy inside its core

so in case of air coil where the energy is stored !

thanks all
bye

We think of the energy being stored in the magnetic field, not in the core. That is really not a very good answer, but it is the best we can do.

1. What is the purpose of a coil in storing energy?

The main purpose of a coil in storing energy is to create an electromagnetic field that can store electrical energy. This stored energy can then be used to power various devices such as motors, generators, and transformers.

2. How does a coil store energy?

A coil stores energy by creating a magnetic field when an electric current passes through it. This magnetic field stores energy in the form of potential energy, which can be released when the current is turned off or when the coil is placed near another coil or magnetic object.

3. What type of energy is stored in a coil?

A coil stores electrical energy in the form of magnetic potential energy. This energy is created by the movement of electrons through the coil when an electric current is applied.

4. How much energy can a coil store?

The amount of energy a coil can store depends on several factors such as the size of the coil, the number of turns in the coil, and the strength of the electric current passing through it. However, in general, a coil can store a significant amount of energy that can be released in a short amount of time.

5. What are some common applications of energy storage in coils?

Coils are commonly used for energy storage in a variety of devices, such as electromagnets, inductors, and transformers. They are also used in electronic circuits to store energy and regulate the flow of electricity. Coils are also an essential component in electric motors and generators, which convert stored energy into mechanical energy.
