What Lies Beyond the Observable Cosmos?

In summary, the conversation discusses the nature of the universe and whether it is an infinite eternal space or if it began with the Big Bang. It also raises questions about what lies beyond the observable cosmos. The sources mentioned may provide insight into these questions.

If the universe is a 3 dimensional (plus time) space expanding into something, what is that something?

Am I correct in stating that the universe is an infinite eternal space in which the Big Bang happened 13.5 billion years ago, and that the observable cosmos is expanding into this space?

Or, did all of space begin at the Big Bang as well as all the matter and energy that arose from that event?

If the latter is correct and there is no space beyond the expanding bubble of matter and energy that resulted from the Big Bang then will somebody kindly tell me what does lie beyond the extent of the observable Cosmos please?

Thanks.

1. What is beyond the observable cosmos?

The observable cosmos refers to everything that can be seen and detected by our current technology and understanding. It is estimated that the observable cosmos extends up to 93 billion light years in diameter. Beyond that, the exact nature is still unknown.

2. Can we ever know what lies beyond the observable cosmos?

It is currently impossible for us to know what lies beyond the observable cosmos. The expansion of the universe and the limitations of our technology make it difficult to detect anything beyond a certain distance. However, advancements in technology and scientific theories may one day provide us with a better understanding.

3. Are there other galaxies beyond the observable cosmos?

It is highly likely that there are other galaxies beyond the observable cosmos. The observable cosmos is just a small fraction of the entire universe and it is believed that there are countless galaxies beyond our current reach.

4. Could there be life forms beyond the observable cosmos?

It is a possibility that there could be life forms beyond the observable cosmos. With the vastness of the universe and the potential for other habitable planets, it is possible that there could be other forms of life beyond what we can currently observe.

5. How does the concept of multiverse tie into what lies beyond the observable cosmos?

The concept of multiverse suggests that there are multiple universes beyond our own. This ties into the idea of what lies beyond the observable cosmos as it suggests that there could be other universes and realities beyond our current understanding and detection.
