Is it possible to major in just astronomy

In summary, if one wants to study astronomy, there is no articulated degree offered in California. However, some universities in the UK may offer a combined degree in physics and astronomy.

, or would you be majoring in physics if you want to study astronomy?
Say for example you want to study astronomy, if you go to assist.org, there is no articulation agreement for earning a degree in astronomy?

Ok, if you look here there is no school in California, at least, offering any degree in it, is there?

If the university has enough credits to make up a degree in Astronomy then yes, though it isn't common. In the UK I believe there are a couple of universities that do it, but the trend has been to move away from this and promote a physics + astronomy combined degree instead.
