Motor power for screw conveyor?

In summary, motor power for screw conveyor refers to the amount of power required to operate a mechanical device used for moving materials from one location to another. The formula for calculating motor power takes into account factors such as the size and speed of the conveyor, the type and weight of the material being transported, and the angle of incline or decline. It is important to accurately calculate motor power to ensure efficient and effective transportation of materials and avoid potential damage or increased operating costs. Motor power for screw conveyor can be adjusted if necessary, with the consultation of a qualified engineer or manufacturer.

Hi
this is the case
I have to find a suitable motor for a screw conveyor
with mass flow of 200g/h
lenght of a crew 0.5m
diameter is 100m
it works with small particles of coal
and it need to work for 1 rpm
help??

Q=200g/h
L=0.5m
D=100m
S=1RPM
? Are you sure about these units?

1. What is motor power for screw conveyor?

Motor power for screw conveyor refers to the amount of power required to operate a screw conveyor, which is a mechanical device used for moving materials from one location to another. It is typically measured in horsepower (HP) and is influenced by factors such as the size and speed of the conveyor, as well as the type and weight of the material being transported.

2. How is motor power calculated for screw conveyor?

The formula for calculating motor power for screw conveyor is: Motor Power = (Conveyor Capacity x Conveyor Length x Material Density x Material Flow Rate)/ 33,000. This formula takes into account the amount of material being transported, the distance it is being transported, and the weight and flow rate of the material, and then divides the result by a constant value of 33,000.

3. What factors affect motor power for screw conveyor?

The main factors that affect motor power for screw conveyor are the size and speed of the conveyor, the type and weight of the material being transported, and the angle of incline or decline of the conveyor. Additionally, factors such as the efficiency of the motor and any external forces or resistance on the conveyor can also impact the required motor power.

4. Why is it important to accurately calculate motor power for screw conveyor?

Accurately calculating motor power for screw conveyor is important because it ensures that the conveyor is able to efficiently and effectively transport the desired amount of material. If the motor power is too low, the conveyor may not be able to move the material, resulting in costly downtime and potentially causing damage to the equipment. On the other hand, if the motor power is too high, it can lead to unnecessary energy consumption and increased operating costs.

5. Can motor power for screw conveyor be adjusted?

Yes, motor power for screw conveyor can be adjusted. In some cases, it may be necessary to adjust the motor power if there are changes in the material being transported or the operating conditions of the conveyor. This can be done by adjusting the speed of the conveyor or by changing the motor itself to one with a different horsepower rating. It is important to consult with a qualified engineer or manufacturer when making any adjustments to motor power for screw conveyors.
