How spinning top work?

Can somebody tell me how can a spinning top turn? I still dont uderstand, because they use some difficult terms to explain. (=.=)

with the Physics theory used and whole and full explanation that a secondary student can understand.

and also explain why the spinning will stop turning soon after we touch it.
