In summary, the conversation was about a request for a moderator to take care of a certain issue on a forum. The person responding suggested using the "report" button instead in the future and explained why. They also mentioned bringing up the issue with the main admin when they return.

Done! For future reference, a better way to get this sort of thing done is to use the "report" button which sends a message to all the mentors (moderators) without everyone else having to skip past it.

Thanks jtbell.

BTW, I was going to use the "report" button but when I clicked on it it said :
Code:
Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) and unappropriated posts.
So I wasn't sure whether or not to use it for this purpose.

Yeah, people have commented on that warning before. I think the response was something like it's built into vBulletin and can't be changed without serious hacking.

Greg (the main admin) is away now, but I'll try to remember to bring this up when he gets back...

You'd have to really flood us with reports to get on our nerves for abuse of the report button. It happens, but very rarely.
