In summary, modifications made to a 747 aircraft can include installing additional fuel tanks, strengthening the fuselage, and adding specialized equipment for research or military purposes. These modifications can result in increased capabilities and features, such as improved range, fuel efficiency, and the ability to perform specific tasks. The purpose of modifying a 747 aircraft can vary, but it is often for scientific research, heavy cargo transportation, or serving as a platform for specialized technology. The length of time it takes to modify a 747 aircraft can range from a few weeks to several months. While a modified 747 can be used for commercial purposes if it meets safety and regulatory requirements, it is typically used for specific projects and not for commercial flights.

Hi all,

I came across these pictures and just thought to ask you guys your thoughts one them. I was wondering what exactly this is, an attempt at a freighter? testing new composites? Or maybe developing a stretched deck to compete with the A380? I don't know... but it's definitely interesting looking. What do you'll think?
