Working Principle of Split Ring Resonators

What is the physical working principle of SRR's ?
How do they result in the negative permeability at a macro level?
(either of explanation or decent links will do!!)

Thanks

i have gone through this. what i was looking for is the actual physics supporting the functioning of the srr. wiki merely states its structure and characteristics.

how is it equivalent to an atomic (magnetic) model and what actually causes the negative permeability within the given freq range?

where exactly does the capacitance form and what role does it play?

how exactly, is the current flow/elec fields within etc.?

That would be a lot technical.

May be this is what you are looking for:

The precise idea of that is given in the Wikipedia article in the introduction part. Read it.

For more details, refer to the links I mentioned in my previous post.
