I have a paper I must write on any SC case after 2000. Anyone have any suggestions of one that maybe interesting. Maybe something your business has been effected by the outcome.
A US Supreme Court case suggestion is a proposal for a case to be heard by the highest court in the United States. It can be submitted by individuals, organizations, or even the lower courts.
To suggest a case to the US Supreme Court, you can submit a written petition to the court or through a petition for a writ of certiorari, which is a formal request for the court to review a lower court's decision.
The US Supreme Court has jurisdiction over cases involving federal law, the US Constitution, and cases between states. This includes cases related to civil rights, federal crimes, and disputes between states.
The US Supreme Court receives thousands of case suggestions each year but only chooses to hear around 100-150 cases. The court uses the "Rule of Four" which means that at least four of the nine justices must agree to hear a case for it to be accepted.
If the US Supreme Court agrees to hear a case, both parties will submit written briefs and present oral arguments. The court will then review the case and issue a decision, which can take several months. The decision of the US Supreme Court is final and cannot be appealed.
