Eddy Currents
I want to demonstrate the damping effect of a magnetic field on a pendulum. For the effect to be measurable (difference of 10-20% of time period will do), how thick of a sheet do I need to use and how strong does the magnetic field need to be? Will simple bar magnets be good enough? Can I do it with a spherical bob? Please help.
