SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the challenges faced by a student at the University of Puerto Rico in accessing scientific papers on carbon nanotubes, specifically regarding the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) process. The student seeks to gather information on this widely used technique but encounters limitations due to the university's library resources. A moderator suggests using Google Scholar as a reliable tool for finding relevant articles, particularly for beginners in the field.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) techniques
  • Familiarity with carbon nanotube applications in material science
  • Basic knowledge of academic research methodologies
  • Proficiency in using online academic databases and search engines
NEXT STEPS
  • Research advanced CVD techniques for carbon nanotube synthesis
  • Explore Google Scholar for peer-reviewed articles on carbon nanotubes
  • Investigate other academic databases like Science Direct or JSTOR
  • Study the properties and applications of carbon nanotubes in various fields
USEFUL FOR

Material science students, researchers in nanotechnology, and anyone interested in the synthesis and application of carbon nanotubes.

Let me explain my situation. Recently I was admitted to a material science laboratory at my university (University of Puerto Rico). We are going to try to grow carbon nanotubes by the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) process. My first step is to get information on the technique (which is currently frequently used) by finding some papers from scientific journals. The problem is that the library here has some journals, but not all of them. Most universities have access to journal retrieving utilities, like Science Direct, but no luck in my university.

Excuse me if I posted in the wrong forum. I just though this is the one more visited.
