ang. momentum and ang. velocity

Is there a way to think of angular momentum and angular velocity as (second rank) tensors? I am used to the equation [tex]\textbf{L} = I\omega[/tex], where I is the intertia tensor, but I came across a source that treats L and [tex]\omega[/tex] as (anti-symmetric second rank) tensors. How is this done?
