Books on audio and electrical physics for the laymen.

I'm not looking for any books which are totally written for the layman, I'm looking for a book which can give me a basic understanding of audio and electrical physics and build up my knowledge to a somewhat basic level. Something which would have visual illustrations of concepts and initially be understandable to the layman, assume no prior knowledge of physics, and be able to teach a basic understanding.
