Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around seeking recommendations for advanced physics problem books, covering topics such as mechanics, waves, oscillations, heat, and thermodynamics. Participants share various resources they have found useful in their studies.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • One participant mentions using "Problems In Physics" by Irodov and expresses a desire for additional resources.
  • Another participant suggests checking out problem sets from Feynman's series and mentions a specific resource titled "Major American Universities PhD qualifying questions and solutions," along with REA's problem solvers.
  • A different participant recommends the books by Krotov and Sena, describing them as old Russian texts.
  • The same participant inquires about where to obtain copies of Krotov and Sena, indicating difficulty in finding them locally.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants share various recommendations without any clear consensus on a single best resource. Multiple competing views on useful books remain present.

Contextual Notes

Some participants express challenges in accessing certain recommended books, highlighting potential limitations in availability based on location.

Who May Find This Useful

Check out the problem sets accompanying Feynman's series
there ir a series of solved problems, called "Major American Unioversities PhD qualifying questions and solutions" that are pretty good. I have one called "Problems and Solutions on electromagnetism"
and REA's problems solvers

Use Krotov, Sena. Both are old Russian books...
