Characteristic method of solving PDEs
I find using characteristics to solve wave equations and the like very hard. I do it and think I understand it then a week or two later, I fail at the first moment when doing these problems again. Why is this? Does other people find this as well? Am I missing something? Are there key concepts that allow people to find them more intuitive?
