Strength of test tube with respect to wall thickness
I need to determine how reducing the wall thickness of a fused quartz "test tube" shape will effect its overall strength. For the curious....www.steripen.com. I am contemplating changing the OD of the quartz sleeve that encases the UV lamp while letting the ID remain the same. The current wall thickness has a tolerance range from 2.025 max to 1.875 min. Any ideas on how to calculate? Thanks
