Histamine non-termination

So, my class was discussing the histamine's effects on the body. We then came to the question of what happens to an organism when the effects of histamine are not terminated. In other words, what are the effects on the body when when termination mechanisms (uptake, degradation, diffusion, etc) are inhibited?

Some of the ones I've thought of so far are:

- continuation of immune process in body: inflammatory processes, allergic reactions
- desensitization of neurons (or the host)

Any comments or further elaborations are appreciated. Thanks!
