electron capture
1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
calculate the kinetic energy Q for CA-41 via electron capture 2. Relevant equations Q = (mparent-mdaughter)*c2 3. The attempt at a solution CA 41 has 20 protons and 21 neutrons, so will it become K with 19 protons and 22 neutrons? (the book also stated that the daughter nucleus can be heavier than the parent in the case of electron capture) just want to make sure i am on the right track, the calculation is straightforward assuming it is set up correctly |
