Designs and Patterns using Arithmetic Progression

I want to know some areas where Arithmetic progression is used in the designing technique. This does not look like a very difficult thing, but I cant think of anything but 'Stairs'.
AP is used in stairs. First step is 4 inches. Next is 10. Then 16, 22, 28,24 respectively.
