Woah. I didn't even know that this section of PF existed, and yet I've been reading PhD for a while. However, I can't seem to access the site from here, so I'll have to wait until I get back to the US. Either that or post it as a picture

I'm going to guess Indian, based on the following very thin evidence.

1. There is a facebook entry for Tajel Patel.

2. I know some people from India whose name is Patel.

Tajel seems to be an Indian name...depends whom you ask. It is common among the Gujrati community ('Patel' - Gujrati last name). One of my cousins is named Tejal (she spells it differently). But as far as this character is concerned, I'd say the jury's till out on her nationality.
