Vortex Breakdown
Hi,
Could someone please explain to me the actual definition of vortex breakdown (VB) and VB suppression? I have read that when VB is suppressed vortices cannot be seen, and when VB occurs vortices can be seen. Does this mean that when VB occurs we see a vortex , and when VB suppression occurs we do not see a vortex? When VB occurs doesn’t an existing vortex get destroyed and disappear? Because what I have read does not agree with this. Thanks! Sashankh |
