At least city is obvious now. Assuming no tricks

Really? but what would "related" mean then? Maybe it's because the landmark is 'related' to that city?

Landmark being in a city can be related to it as well. Obviously, 'related' is a very capacious word

True but in fact, the landmark is not even in the same country as the city of the hint.

There are some superficial similarities with a certain prominent old building in the capital of the country of the landmark, like a central tower for instance. It shares even more things.

(note: a hint, not the landmark) It has more in common with the landmark than meets the eye. |

A last attempt; if you want to go from the first city to the landmark, just have Al throwing the dammer out.

I found the Brussels city hall by searching for "gothic spire" then it was a matter of trying to find somewhere which satisfied the double anagram clue. |

Correct Jonathan
First hint Amsterdam, is obviously a very helpfull google word but not the location. Second and third hint, the Brussels city hall has not only the tower and the column gallery in common but also the name of the central market square, where it is located. "Grote Markt" So if you'd image googe: ... grote markt amsterdam ... it's the first hit on page one for me. Indeed the last hint was a double anagram for Aalst. |

Gothenburg Museum of Art? Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothenburg_Museum_of_Art (First link doesn't seem to be working. Also, been away, just in and if correct, it could be a while before I get back to the screen.) |

Another attempt, as I don't see Carl Milles' Poseidon statue in the last link-

The square in Gothenburg containing the statue of Poseidon is called "Götaplatsen", and is surrounded by the concert hall (home of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra), the art museum (and art gallery), and the theatre. I lived near there in the 1980s while working in Sweden. |
