Forum Game - Where's That Landmark?![]() This small lake is pretty, isn't it? But it's in a place that's famous not for its beauty, but its creepy residents .So I'm not looking for the name of the lake, per se, but the place where the lake is located. |

Sounds like Crater Lake Monster. That'll put the place somewhere in California

Seems like this crater lake is on Rapa Nui.
Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rano_Raraku Edit: Rapa Nui is Easter Island, for me it was obvious as I have read Heyerdahl book (Aku-Aku) many years ago, but I'm adding it just in case. |

Wow! I have spent a couple hours de-compressing from some legal complications, playing the Landmark forum game and never got close. I have to have some time before getting back to the quasar/cosmology thread because of the difficulty in sorting out "known" things from things which have not properly been examined with epistemology, and personal stuff has intervened. I don't want to question somebody's research with unwarranted criticism.

well I didn't play but my solution would have been El Junco lake on the Galapalos islands, the creepy "residents" being the Galapalos dragons, creeping over the rocks
![]() Isn't that a coincidence? |

http://www.panoramio.com/photo/9885472 At first I planned to post this picture: http://www.pbase.com/smok53/image/77402001 But I was afraid it could be too difficult, so I decided for the one with additional hints. Too many hints I guess

Funny. The building is an old granary seen from the tower of the Modlin stronghold, and there are two rivers visible - Vistula straight ahead and Narew to the left. Site is loaded with geography and history. Whoever selected this picture to depict just Vistula must have known nothing about the place
