SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on the mathematical challenge of expressing natural numbers using exactly four instances of the digit 4. Participants provide various equations to represent numbers starting from 0, such as 0 = (4 - 4)/(4*4) and 1 = (4*4)/(4*4). The thread encourages creativity in mathematical expression and showcases different methods to achieve the goal. For further exploration, users are directed to the complete thread for additional solutions and insights.

Here's an old one: starting with 0 (or 1) list all the natural numbers using nothing but 4 4s. I'll go first.
0 = (4 - 4)/(4*4)
1 = (4*4)/(4*4)
2 = (4*4)/(4*sqrt(4))
... etc
