Could somebody tell what is the newest
ideas in energy storage technology?
Is there some new effects discovered,
such as quantum or electron related?
Is this possible to have energy storage
which would be average in energy
density between chemical and nuclear?

There is new battery tech. called STAIR that can hold 10 times the charge as a battery today, but im not sure if this is what you are looking for.
