anybody know of any good books on the manhattan project?

books that go into detail with the science would be a plus.

The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes is always a classic. I find it to be the most complete volume. Quite long, so plan on taking a long time to read it.

Another is Brighter than a Thousand Suns: A Personal History of the Atomic Scientists by Robert Jungk. It was written close to 35 years ago now, but is very well written and concise. It gives a good historical perspective, especially in a time when we were facing the imminent threat of nuclear war.
